After a series of evaluation and validation activities, the City College of Ormoc (CCO), a government-run institution this city, has received its CHED-issued Institutional Recognition (IR) Certificate at the Commission on Higher Education – Regional Office VIII (CHEDRO-VIII), July 15, Monday.
The said recognition was awarded by Dr. Maximo C. Aljibe, Regional Director of CHEDRO-VIII, to CCO as represented by Ms. Ma. Victoria Lyra P. Dela Cerna, the OIC President/College Administrator, alongside the CCO Management Team.
With this recognition, the institution has been found to have merit and is now a full pledged higher education institution in Eastern Visayas which is capable and ready to offer quality education to both Ormocanon and non-Ormocanon youth through its four (4) baccalaureate programs: Bachelor of Public Administration (BPA), Bachelor of Science in Office Administration (BSOA), Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Major in Marketing Management (BSBA-MM), and Bachelor of Science in Social Work (BSSW).
Being true to its mission, the City College of Ormoc commits to constantly ensure that the pursuit of excellence and conformity to educational standards remain visible and strong as it opens its doors for the newcomers in August.
The institution sincerely thanks the regional and national office of CHED for their warm support and assistance behind this historic milestone, following the receipt of Mayor Lucy Torres Gomez and Congressman Richard Gomez of the Report on the Result of the Preliminary Assessment (RRPA) of our programs last July 11, 2024.
