A Deed of Donation by and between the Energy Development Corporation (EDC) and City College of Ormoc (CCO) was signed and entered into on July 28, 2026 at the EDC Origami office in Barangay Doña Feliza Z. Mejia.
The donation serves to improve the learning experience of CCO’s engineering and technology students by integrating EDC’s decommissioned assets into CCO’s learning laboratories.
CCO is set to open its Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) and Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology (BIndTech)-Major in Power Plant Technology in the next academic year; and these decommissioned assets would be very helpful to both students and faculty in their learning journey.
CCO representatives present at the signing were Atty. Nolito M. Quilang (OIC-President/College Administrator), Sandra Lynn Baybay (Vice President, Academic Affairs), Aga Galabo (Vice President, Administration and Finance Services), Rosenda Pialago (Director, Administrative and General Services Office), Engr. Michael Mendoza (BSME & BIndTech Programs Focal Person), and Atty. Jima Zandra M. Jimenea-Vergara (CCO Legal Officer).
Joining them were EDC representatives: Engr. Leonita Sabando (Head, Leyte Environmental Protection), Engr. Andy Durog (Head, Leyte Site Support Shared Services), Engr. Ted Troyo (Head, Leyte Operations), and Engr. Estanislao Pialago, Jr. (Head, Leyte Site Operations and Maintenance).
In attendance too at the signing was Elysse Michelle Mariano of MT Mariano Logistics Services, the hauling company that is generously extending its services to haul the decommissioned assets from EDC’s Tongonan plants to CCO’s new home in Barangay San Pablo.
